More About this Project
My responsibilities at BizCo Studio included coordinating and creating social media content for a variety of clients, including a local brewery. While reviewing existing content, I discovered a 12-year-old YouTube video from the brewery showcasing the brewing process.
I adapted the process from the video into an internal reference document and utilized this to create an Instagram carousel graphic. I followed existing brand style guidelines to create the design.
I then conferred with a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the head brewmaster, and revised my initial draft based on his feedback:
Hey,
Here's some corrections I would make to the slide post you created.
Slide 2: Instead of malted barley just use malt. We use a variety of different malts in the beers not just barley.
Slide 3: Take the barley part out again. Then use something like this "Malt is kilned at a range of temperatures producing a variety of flavors from toasty to dark chocolate. It's then milled and added to the mash tun."
Slide 4: For the title I would say Mashed The Grain. Then say "Milled malt is mixed with hot water in the mash tun to create a mash. Essential sugars are then extracted, needed later in the brewing process. This sweet sugary extract is known as wort."
Slide 5: Say "Wort is run off into the kettle slowly through a process called lautering, where it is then boiled to concentrate and sterilize the product."
Slide 6: I would just take out the word boiling at the end.
Slide 8: Take out the word yeast and replace it with particulates.
